The Peruvian port of Salaverry leads the way to Trujillo, the nation's second largest city, situated before the Andean foothills.
Took an interesting bus ride to town with a major snarl in traffic at a roundabout. Absolutely nuts driving, people hopping onto buses mid circle and the bus didn't even slow down let alone stop. Vehicles coming from any direction and anything goes.
Probably the poorest city we have ever visited, and we've seen a few over the years. Dogs on roofs, ramshackle "homes", scrawny cows, garbage strewn everywhere. Contrast with the decadence on the ship, almost bizarre.
No wifi so this will be a late post, along with the rest of them!
